The mothership Tour de Fat was a blast!

The mothership show was a blast! Best, smoothest bike parade ever - over 15k people? $69,750 raised for the Overland Mountain Bike Club and Bike Fort Collins. And we diverted 93% of waste from the landfill. There were dozens of extra-high-energy performances on 4 stages and the crowd was pumping out the love all day. T...he food was the best ever, so delicious and and with lots of variety among the 8 vendors.Read more

Let's go to the corking line!

Alright folks, you remember this question don't you?  Well all that happened the other day and this morning I had a meeting with the sensory specialist and now I am here to relay the answer.  Now the answer to this wonderful beer in bottle question is relevant to the corking line so I figured I would tie in the whole thing and have yet another installment of Let's go to the...  And today we are headed to the corking line.  What exactly is the corking line you may Read more

You like food right? And how about beer?

I was strolling around Whole Food's this morning doing a little gathering (in the modern hunter/gatherer kind of way) and finding some cheese to present at a good friend's wedding this weekend (in lieu of a gift the soon to be nuptialed couple has asked us all to bring a specific food item, I got the cheese plate (and it is going to be the best cheese plate in the whole world, cows, goats and sheep will all be accounted for, not to mention the crackers)).  And as the rest of my grocery getting was happening I decided to peruse the meat case.  As you may know Whole FRead more

Is there a beginning to this end?

Well Formal Friday was a great success.  Never once however could we get a group photo, but trust me everyone was involved, and dang man, they all looked good.  And worth mentioning here is that not a single person (co-worker or otherwise) showed up in an (ever in poor taste) tuxedo t-shirt.  We had suits, ties, formal gowns, rhinestones, it was a marvel to be witnessed.  We also had a few guests in on the hot-hot Formal Friday action:

Some interesting stuff... seriously.

The other day I was hanging out with my pal Aras (an expert packaging tech) and he was relaying some awesome stories about the new kegging lineand he had one that happened that very day that really stuck out for me.  The story was about  a message he received from a fan via a returned keg.  The keg came off the return truck that afternoon and was soon to be loaded onto the line for re-filling when he spotted it.  I asked if the messRead more

A fine day for beer pairings and story swapping.

Well it's Tuesday, I was up early and ready to complete all tasks at hand.  And the task staring me right in the face now is this post, and for this post I wanted to offer a few things to you.  First, another great beer and food pairing: green chili beef tacos with Hoptober.  I spent the majority of yesterday afternoon stewing up some flank steak in onions, garlic, and a little broth (water at first, then eventually I could call it broth).  It slowly cooked, tenderizing and readying itself for the shredding.  On Read more

May I compliment you on the rear end of your week?

It's Friday and I (for one) am super excited.  This week has been busy and now I know that the weekend is insight and plans have to be made.  And first on the plan agenda is learning how to make better balloon animals (and hats and trumpets and stuff).  I have read books and seen demonstrations but my technique is still lacking.  So I am dedicating at least 55 minutes this coming Sunday to learning a better approach, and first thing on my list of balloon items to learn how to make is a hat that has a beer mug protruding out the front end:Read more

The last week...

Well, Pow-Wow is over (Pow-Wow is a week at the brewery when all the sales force (Beer Rangers) come back home and we all get together and have meetings and parties and retreats) and I am still recovering.  I had little time last week to pull together a post, so in that vein I apologize, but I was out doing things that were time consuming and fun and weird and in this week's first post I would like to relay some highlights from the previous week.Read more

FRIDAY!

So I'm back from my weekend in the middle west and I have stories to tell.  It was a wonderful couple of days full of family time and friendly activities.  It started with Sunday at the pool.  All my brothers and their families were present and we swam and jumped off a nice diving board.  I tried to do a flip and didn't make it (it would have been the first successful Juicebox flip).  In the process my sun-shades went flying off my face and sank to the bottom of the deep end.  This deep end was over 11 feet.  In the act of swimming to the bottom Read more
